oil and filter change HOW MUCH???
HI,
i went in to ATS to book an oil and filter change, i do this twice a year due to only doing short journeys. 5 month ago i was charged £31. today i was qouted £53.i told him hes not on and he said he would mark me down for £31 but would have to see what the 10/40 semi synthetic oil would be. when i told him that is what i ordered to go in my engine the last time. so now im left wondering just what did they put in it last time. so the question is WHAT DO YOU PAY FOR OIL CHANGE?. regards Billy

I was very lucky, got our mechanic at work to do mine on monday.
Got fully synthetic oil and filter for £18.60 and the oil change was free. Paul |

5 litres of decent oil at about £20, about £8 for an oil filter, about 20 minutes to do that, say £20 labour. I would expect to pay at least £50 for an oil and filter change. That is if I didn't do my own changes.

Don't realise how lucky we are with the 75's and ZT's.
My Diesel Civic needs 0/30 Fully Synthetic - it's about £7.50 per litre Chris

you need nearly 7 litres to do a CDTi even at sensible prices that makes it as DIY 2 x £17.99 for two 5litres of fully synth 5w40 plus about a fiver for the filter but that does leave you with 3 litres for top ups or next change so £53 from a garage is more than reasonable for a diesel (assuming they really use decent oil I'm not sure that a lot do) but not a K series which uses about a thimble of oil maybe they got confused over the engine type?

I put my ZR into Kwik Fit every 5000 miles. £29 for the filter & semi-syth oil. Bit if a bargain!
