Default M3-100 head unit with harman kardon

I've just bought the above cd head unit and six disc changer , with harman kardon , loom etc
Will it be hard to fit it back in ? What steering wheel control/converter will I need ?

Does anybody have the above set up , wondering what it's like ? I currently have the standard kenwood unit at the mo

Cheers

The M3-100 and the changer will be easy to fit.

The Harmon/kardon system not so easy.

As for the steering wheel controls. The picture below shows how the blue/orange and blue/purple wires for the steering wheel controls they are wired to the green mini iso plug [no interface required with the M3-100].

Hi I am new to this rover 75 club and wondered if you could help. I ve got aa rover 75 contemporary se diesel auto with the cd 100 stereo fitted with Harman kardon the trouble is sometimes its memory goes and I have to reset everything on it. Is there a way around this so that the stereo never looses its memory ?

I'm afraid the loss of memory is a common fault with the Ivox M3 100 unit.

The internal battery is at fault.

The only way around the problem is to connect a permanent feed to the radio, or replace the internal battery.

Unfortunately a permanent feed leads to the more severe problem of flattening the car battery so not a practical solution.

The only real solution is to replace the radio.

MG Rover had so many problems with the Ivox radio's that they stopped fitting them and replaced with VDO units, these however have their own problems but are a marked improvement on the Ivox units.

Thank you for your reply to my question. I think I will replace the stereo at some point in the very near future. With the karman kardon amp would that still work with a different stereo? apart from the above I ve only had the car a month and so far very impressed with it as I was with my old 75 diesel tourer manual. This time I ve bought a rover 75 contemporary se diesel auto one of if not the most smoothest of cars and best quality I ve owned.
