Aerial amp - dodgy earth?
A week ago I noticed odd interaction between rear screen heater and radio. It started when I tuned the most interesting FM stations into the memory, with car parked and engine off. On driving away half of them were gone or very poor. Then I switched off the screen heater that comes on when the car is started, and everything was fine again.
It strikes me that the aerial amp might have lost it's proper earth feed and is finding one through the heater tracks. Which is fine until that goes to +12V. Anyone else had this, and any suggestions where I should go looking? Edit: Ought to mention - it's a Symphony radio. |
