Default Headlight questions.

After inspecting my lights a few problems have arisen.

The passenger dipped beam adjuster has been broken and replaced with some assorted prices of brass. Cab the adjuster be bought separately?

The driver side bulb appear to be hel in the holder with blue tac.

How do the bulbs mount in mk2 lights? Is there a clip missing that is available?

Regards, James.

Closest to the wing. So outside if the car? Directly above the dipped beam adjusts it up and down.

It sounds to me like the reflector isn't located correctly on the upper/central ball joint. If the reflector can't turn on both central points, the left/right adjuster will push it in a vertical plane - up/down. This image will explain.

The upper right arrow shows the left/right adjuster ball socket, the upper/centre is the up/down socket and the lower arrow shows the reflector fulcrum.

what he said...

get a box big enough for the headlight and a hairdryer... you can remove the lens and fix it...

Seems wrong end of the sick has been grabbed!

The adjuster on the nearside lamp is actually missing. It has been replaced by some brass plumbing fixings by a previous owner. These are still functional as an adjuster but is clearly a monumental bodge.

The left, right, adjuster is still intact and working. I didn't have the cat or light to hand when guessing which adjuster was needed and have since checked.

Thanks all, this is still useful information for future.

After all this and the great help from klarzy after some removal there is much bodgery. The nearside lamp has a missing mount, the clip for Alan head adjuster has been snapped off lamp thus the brass parts bodge.

Both lamps are missing the bulb holders and have had the mounts bent in to hold the cheap plastic xenon bulbs.

The offside lamp has had 2 hole drilled in the lamp to let out moisture that has been let in by the cut open rubber covers again for the hid wiring.

Front bumper also looks to have had some repair and has many bolts missing from the lower support.

Quite aggravated this evening. On the lookout for basically a whole new front end to the car.
