Does ipod 160Gb 6th gen work with connects2?
Hi,
I am planning for some time to improve my 75 2.0 cdt (with Symphony no nav) sound system by connecting the head unit to an ipod. I want to buy a 160gb 6th gen ipod. Anybody connected it? Does it work fine, and will it charge? Thanks |

I was advised that connects2 stuff wouldnt do my 5th gen (5V charge) nano. So check if the Rover kit has been designed in the last year or so. If its the old stock, it wont charge unless you use a scosche converter.

So it would probably not charge but would all other features work?

sorry - cant comment on the use in the Rover. Mine was in another car. But it didnt do anything more than "play ok" - the data from songs didnt transfer using the CDC-cloaking method, for me.

A Grom unit should do what you need. I have one with a 120gb iPod and it works fine. I beleive the latest incarnation will charge all iPods up to (and including) the iPod Touch. Just have to make one small (and simple) change to the interface lead.

A little late perhaps but I have a pretty old Connects2 kit that worked well with my 160 GB 6G iPod classic.

There is a difference in the charging pins between the classic and the touch. None of my docks now charge my touch and I have had to buy a new dock
