A Rover P6 with 75 Seats
Yes, as per the title, someone has finally done it. I used to have a P6, and one of the attractions of the 75 was how the interior was a 'nod' to the heritage of the P6 & the P5 (well for me anyway). The owner has shoe horned 75 seats in and it looks awful. At what point did it seem a good idea?
This just looks wrong & has ruined a potentially good car (my P6 was the same colour - Monaco red? but mine had a vinyl roof - TOT 800H) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ROVER-3500...item27dc0e1f1f Last edited by Dragrad; 14th December 2013 at 23:54.. Reason: Contravention of Club Rules - FAQ Rule 2 |

That P6 has been for sale a few times. P6 seats are among the best I've ever encountered, but only in flatpleat form. I've got a couple of P6 seats in my flat as furniture, and they're great! They work best with ET headrests, which are just briliant.
Pity that they've put those 75 seats into it. They've made it even less spacious than before. Even before, I regard a P6 as the best four door two seater around. The way that the rear seats have been shrouded looks pretty awful. I really like the interior of P6s, but the 75 seats spoil it rather. Looks an okay car otherwise, and I'm tempted to give it a shot if it stays cheap. A tax exempt 3500 is a nice car, and, P6s are still cheaper than a lot of people think.

They don't mention what's happened to the old seats, in my eyes it beggars belief they even attempted it let alone actually done it. |

I've seen one other P6 with 75 front seats, and a P5B with Aubergine electric front seats fitted to a Mulberry interior.
I'd be inclined not to respray that P6. It might polish up okay, and if not, there's something quite cool about a slightly down-at-heel Series 2 V8. I've got a spare set of seats in the shed, so the 75 seats could be removed and replaced with something more fitting.

I must admit the rear seats look so crammed in it really doesn't look right. The original seats must have been designed to look right in the space available.

It's a shame about the seats as they really do look like an afterthought in here, especially the rear.

A photo of the correct seats, in my 2000, to let you see the difference.
They're very comfortable, and a P6 is very much a four seater, with individual rear seats.

One of my first cars was a 3500 v8 ex met police car in blue with a big zip across the roof lining and spare wheel on boot I'd love one again

I find my 75's seats on par with my P6. But I do love my Mango leather.
