Default Changng From Navall 2 to Navall 3

As per the heading I am just in process of changing from '2' to '3' and have some questions.

To start with I have the DAB Radio fitted internally.

1. I assume the single cable coming from 'Rear' of 'Front Panel' with SMC connector is for the DAB Aerial !

2. There are 3 other cables coming from same place, One with White & Red Phono's, the other with USB ?

3. There appears to be a 'Spare' SMC connector on the rear panel, just above the SMC Radio Connector.

4. There are four black cables marked, Navi, Mic, & 2 unmarked with USB Connectors.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thankyou

Afternoon Alf,

1, Correct Sir

2, The USB coming from the same place plugs into either USB socket coming from the very back of the unit.
The two phono plugs connect to the aux in red/white on the head unit loom which is connected to the multipin connector on the radio .

3, The spare sma connector is for an optional wifi external aerial should you wish to use one.

4, The navi connector is for the GPS aerial, be careful connecting it as it is a multipin connector and only goes round one way.
Mic is for an optional external mic if you wish but not needed.
The two USB's one you will use as mentioned above the other is a spare for other devices such as a USB thumb drive.

Hope that helps Sir

Thanks Sir Jeff. Spot on again as usual.

Of course, there will be some more questions, but I don't now what they are, yet.

Hi Sir Jeff

You mention a 'WiFi Aerial'. Is that an internal or external fitting. Can you recommend them yet ?

The spare USB you mentioned for USB Thumb Drive, Can I use that for my 3G Dongle.

Cheers

Hi Alf,

I will get my 2 cents worth in , Coolcat is hogging all the spotlight !
You really shouldn't need the wifi aerial under normal circumstances.
The connection is there in case you want to extend the range. Jeff has tried an aerial and it does extend the "active" area.

Yes , you can connect a 3G to the USB input
