Talking Paintwork Correction Offer - PICTURE HEAVY!

Hi all!

My ZT190 has poor paintwork which needs correcting as it is scratched and swirled. I am going to ask 'Steve Cleenz' to come down South from the Midlands to do my car and a few others who require his service. To get him to book us however we need a good 6 people booked within a week for him to make it worthwhile in visiting us.

Why do you ask, I don't get someone local to do it???

Simple, he is an MG Rover enthusiast who is well known and respected for his detailing and cleaning work which is well documented with happy customers over on 'XPower Forums'. He is willing to travel down South for work and split the fuel costs between his customers so to reduce costs for providing his service.

I am posting this up to see if any of our members would like to take the same opportunity in getting their paintwork corrected whether it be the dreaded scratches or swirled paintwork which is a common problem on most of our cars. Details of the services he provides can be found on his own website......

Something to whet your appetite can be found below

Here is an example of his work...........

Steves Cleenz V's Lowey260 (MGZT V8 Supercharged)
Today job was on on this beast of a car, Supercharged MGZT V8

before pics:

car was snow foamed and left to dwell for a couple of minutes

car was then washed, clayed and washed again and dried to reveal this :

then i had the pleasure of driving the car round the yard (oh what a sound the V8 is) to stick inside the warehouse out of the sun, then set my stuff up and some pics under the lights:

a quick 50-50:

these pics are after machining, no wax yet:

then topped off with Zymol wax and taken outside for some pics:

thanks for looking

How much did it cost for the paint correction ?
Does he only do the outside of the car or does he do the engine bay & interior as well ?
Regards
Chris

Having seen his work it is to a very high standard which I am more than happy with. He has done many MG Rovers accompanied with write ups and before and after pics. Can't fault his work even if that seems a short amount of time

Exterior from £175.....
  • Vehicle is hand washed thoroughly with a 100% sheepskin mitt
  • Wheels cleaned and sealed inside and out
  • Inside of Wheel arches cleaned and all tar removed
  • Clay bar the paintwork, this removed all industrial fallout and contaminations that have embedded themselves into the paintwork
  • Dry the vehicle by hand using microfibre towels
  • Paint thickness is measured on the vehicle using a Paint Thickness Gauge
  • 3 stage paint correction process by machine
  • Paintwork is machined polished with a paint cleanser to help the wax stick to the paintwork
  • Double coat of standard Carnauba Wax (**can be upgraded to premium wax**)
  • Plastics and Bumpers dressed and protected
  • Tyres cleaned and dressed with a long life sheen
  • Exterior glass cleaned and polished
Hope that helps folks........

I am a detailer and that list is a big one to do on a car like a ZT in just one day - especially if there's a fair bit of tar/swirls - but I have found the paint on our cars isn't the toughest so it doesn't need major working.

I am a valeter & don't do the correction - should do but I don't consider myself to be skilled enough in the paint correction side of it even though I have the correct machine plus the time taken to do a full detail correction is not that easy to do when you are mobile, 30 hours is an average I believe which i feel I would get bored doing plus you need an army of assorted mop heads & you really can in this job only charge a certain amount & I generally earn that on general valeting.
I however have seen Steve's work & he has recieved much praise on forums such as X-Power etc.
