mdf speaker rings
Does anyone know if these would be any good or is it necessary to custom build?
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Rover-75-1...-/371321315640 Would these improve much on the sound on harmon kardon fronts in addition to sound deadening the door panels?

I'm no ICE expert, but imo I'd think that sound deadening the doors would be the most effective improvement. Making sure the current plastic speaker brackets are in good condition and firmly mounted would be a good idea. I'd only use something like this If I was planning on a real high power system (which I won't because the bm24 is quite loud enough for me to not hear anything else around me when turned up: and that includes ambulances and police cars right behind!

ok, I"m quite new to all of this - regarding sound deadening, it it a case of lining whole of the inside of the outer door skin with something like dynamat and placing a layer of it on the inner door surface, below the standard foam layer on the door? Then make sure the foam is punctured behind the speaker?
Is dynamat worth the money or are there cheaper products just as good?

rings don't fit, you have to modify them to fit the contour of the door... there is a how to somewhere but I cant find it right now. sound deadening is the way to go.

These do say 'Best possible fit due CNC technology' It's probably well worthwhile asking if these are shaped to the door contour or not.

i will see what they say, but I am presuming that this is an effort that is probably not worth it on speakers like the HK ones. With better speakers, and ones that are driven by amps more powerful than what I have perhaps its more relevant.
I think I will try it all standard pretty much, minus the hk amp and substituted with a 2 channel for the subwoofer only. The only thing I'm wondering is since its peanuts what about bass blockers? I see older threads people claim it can transform the HK system - is that worth it, and what type should I be looking for? BB2? Presumably this should only be used in series on the positive wire on the woofer in the lower door? The other thing is it worth considering putting in crossovers on the hk woofer and tweeter in the front doors? These can be quite cheap - if it is worth it, can anyone recommend any? Ebay links for both would be absolutely fantastic if anyone has any recommendations

thanks for the advice on mounting - i wasn't sure if the sat nav has to come out or not though since the front bezel of the drive fits over the carpeting and it won't fit out over it unless you force it - not sure if forcing it is what I need to be doing or not is what I'm asking I guess

btw, the shop that sold the kit got back to me and said they've upgraded the wire to 0awg in the kit but it is half a metre shorter. He's agreed to send me another 2m free for the inconvenience. I call that a result
