Launch Car - One Year On
Its been almost a year since I acquired my T reg Wedgie and it's been an absolute joy to own slowly putting things right and getting back to its former glory. It's 13yrs old with 162,000 miles on the clock and I have a full service history with it. After viewing the above pictures via an email I decided to have a punt, so I sent the seller some money and arranged for a transporter to collect and deliver the car to me 360 miles up the country. When it arrived at 11:30pm one cold saturday night I looked over it with a torch and wondered what on earth it was i'd bought. There was no drivers door handle, several large dents on the drivers door and dings all round, rear bumper melted and scuffed, front bumper scuffed, crease in the sill, ripped boot liner and ripped drivers door seal, paint damage caused by previous owners disability leg calipers and all manner of electrical problems, warning lights, things not working, bald tyres and a pungent smell of a foisty interior. I took some more photos of the car today after a good wash this morning and i'm quite pleased with how she's coming on. It's such a lovely car to be in for a nice waft along the country roads and extremely comfortable. Here's to another year of pleasant motoring. So far then Alan it has mostly been bodywork and trim you have done given the engine has proven to be reliable. I did see a while back that Rimmers had some new Neptune blue leather seat covers. I am not sure if that is what you are looking for. I was able to buy a brand new front bumper in Neptune mark one recently from Sean Cars. These parts are still around, although one day I envisage having to buy a donor car
