KV6 Cylinder 6 misfire
Tickover is a bit rough so I checked with TOAF and getting P0306 - Cylinder 6 misfire detected - signal out of range.
At this stage I'm thinking it could be due to the plug, coil, ECU or a faulty valve. Cylinder 6 is a bit awkward to get at so before I start, does anybody have prior experience of this? Also, what do the diagnostics actually check to determine this code? Thanks, Bob |

Yes I do Bob. I've had a misfire on two separate occasions and in both cases it was the ignition coil breaking down.
I don't know with certainty but I suspect that the diagnostics uses the signal from the knock sensors to detect a misfire. It would be a rare occurrence and you'd be very unlucky to have a problem with a sparking plug, a valve or the ECM. Simon

You were spot-on Simon. Coil changed and now all OK.
Many thanks, Bob Last edited by brds; 28th February 2023 at 15:39.. |
