changing front seats-Disconnect battery?
Hi all
ive brought a set of alacantara seats of ebay that i want to replace mine with as mine are tatty. Have one question? can i do this without disconnecting the battery. all the wiring is a simple plug and play i presume.. the new seats have heated bases but im not sure i have the loom there yet. chris

The Haynes book of fables will probably tell you to disc the battery and empty all the fluids, place the car on axle stands, use an engine hoist to lift them and have a designated first aider present.
In reality I didn't disc my battery when I changed my seats, no adverse effects Ultimately your choice though ( Your names not Haynes is it? )

Switch off and leave for 20 minutes

Yes I agree. I didn't disconnect mine. You should of course (so I'm told) wait for 20 minutes after switching off to be safe when unplugging the seat airbags (yellow connector) Chris |

Aye, standard advice, then we all go and wiggle the wires under the seat if the airbag light is on don't we
