Pab posted on an earlier thread that the latest Nightbreakers and Philips bulbs are of almost equal performance to xenons.I fancy a set of xenons but not at six hundred quid, and then there is the constant worry about breakages.

To be fair to John MGBreaker he usually accepts around 60% of what he asking if there is no demand.

Ive seen replacement facelift headlights for £300 each! So it could be argued the xenons are the about the same price. It's crazy man!

Sadly it is supply and demand, there must be loads out there but they are all on cars now, I dont think any are available new anymore.

Having said that the new ones were nearly £600 each when they were available.

If you see a set reasonably priced might be an idea to save a set,

I have a spare set and another drivers side light in reserve, the passenger side is the harder to get hold of for some reason, maybe because they were more likely to be damaged.

If you are upgrading to xenons, maybe there are better alternatives, but the those with xenons as standard probably want to retain the original type lights.

MInd you, if you had any other car and needed a new light unit the prices are eye watering and relatively speaking £400 for a set in good condition is not a bad deal!

The fact of the matter is, they are an expensive Retro fit. If the units are required due to accident damage and the car is set up for these lights, you have to dig deep Unfortunatly.

The performance of the lamps are more than acceptable, with the Xenon look,Standard Projectors,as I say with today's quality of Halogen Bulbs give these units a run for their money.

The Standard Projectors fitted with a HID kit, perhaps the ultimate in lighting performance.

I bought a pair for £450 and they threw in the rest of the car FOC.

If push comes to shove I have looked at fitting earlier lights and either producing an infill panel for the premium bumper or fit MK1 MGZT front bumpers to my facelifts if I couldn't afford/find facelift headlights; at least I could keep them on the road.

Can Sean (Radioguy) still get MG7 lights? I know they might be LHD, but it should be possible to make a RHD unit with components from a damaged unit as LHD and RHD casings are the same.
