1999 Connie SE diesel, selling for spares, must go quickly. **GONE**
To cut a long story short, I've bought a new car and I'm collecting it on Saturday. On the way, I'll be weighing my old bus in at the scrappers.
Unless someone on here wants it, that is. Too many problems to fix and too little time. It's a Wedgwood blue, 1999 Connie SE diesel. A very early diesel, built at Cowley. 150k miles with the blue leather interior. Full picture album here http://imgur.com/a/Qblcl I'm situated in Bradford, West Yorkshire and can deliver the car within a sensible distance. Minus points. *Clutch, I changed the clutch a few months ago, along with the DMF. The clutch biting point is on the floor, gets worse after a couple of hours driving and getting into first can be difficult. It's not losing fluid though. It has all the symptoms of air in the line, but I've tried bleeding it 4-5 times and no joy. I still drive it every day, and went on holiday to the coast in it last week. *Rust over a wheel arch, see picture. *Rear suspension arm needs replacement, I had one done due to failure, the other will need doing at some point. *Front suspension a bit clunky, bushes are fine and it drives spot on, I suspect droplinks, again.. *Scrape on rear bumper, I removed half with T-cut, then ran out of T-cut.. *Slight drone from front, wheel bearing ? A dog you might think, but it looks like a million dollars Also, some plus points. *New clutch/DMF/slave *Door protectors (the chrome thingies) *Serpents with centre caps (4 legal tyres) *FBH, serviced and fully working *Coolant fan has had new brushes fitted, working A1 *A/C freezing cold *Newish front shocks/rear bushes/strut top mounts, all quality parts *Low mileage (>50k miles) front hubs from Tam *New (Reowe) front disc backing plates *Rear electric blind *Blue leather interior, excellent condition *Xenon aftermarket conversion, correct reflector type *Single DIN conversion *MOT mid-September *Tax long enough to get you home *Good fuel pumps *All door locks work fine *Door handles replaced for A1 ones, again from Tam *2 keys +spare, handbook etc. *Original mats A few spares also included. *Rear callipers (derusted, checked and ready to paint) *Auxiliary belt *A/C belt *Various trim clips *Haynes book-of-lies I've been offered £150 scrap without the wheels or FBH, I'd like £300 for it as-is. So you're basically getting a set of decent serpents, FBH and all the spares you could ever need for £150. As I say, the only caveat is it needs to be gone by Saturday afternoon.

Yes we think it has, Fred wants it for his daily runner, (and see March Car of the Month).
Most certainly not intended for breaking but to be cherished as Tony has. It's new home will be Northfield, Birmingham, a mile from Longbridge. Okay, yes it is a Cowley car. Equally loved. Regards, Mike M. |

Your "Old Bus" has MOT'd OK.
Well Tony, thanks to you, and thanks to Big Russ. Your Old Bus has MOT'd OK on 2nd October, without anything being done to it, nor with any advisories. Regards, Mike and Fred.
