Default Acer 3000 problem.

My Acer laptop has given up the ghost the keyboard has stopped responding and the whole machine went on a major go-slow just before that.
I tried to reinstall XP but when i got to the screen which asks you to enter a name for the PC etc i could not enter any info because of the failure.
Has anybody come arcoss this problem before, the upshot of this is that now i have a Toshiba P200D satellite laptop sat infront of me.

Tootall, close the Acer down & remove the battery & leave it off.

Start the Acer again, does the keyboard work then?

No idea!

All I did was Google the 'symptoms' you mentioned. All I can suggest is having a look when you have some spare time on the www.

Maybe email Acer support too, see what they have to say & mention that it works when you remove the battery.
