I would assume that the wiring harness's are also part of the kit and the kit would appear to be used in conjunction with the Nokia Cark-91 kit, as this is what's fitted to the car and it's what is shown in illustrations in the literature which I posted earlier in the thread. I didn't get any fitting instructions with the kit, but I would assume it's just a matter of identifying the plugs / sockets which tie-up to the harness's in the kit and fitting them appropriately, Steve |

Well Steve you are a lucky boy, C2 kindly emailed me and its obsolete and no longer available.
I suspect you have one of very few that were ever fitted. I was going to ask if they would consider making more but I doubt enough members would be interested. Get it fitted !!!

Interesting stuff. I reckon this is the system that was announced to the Press just a day or so before MGR went into Administration.
Apologies for not following closely, but is the silver box specific to 75/ZT or was it available as part of another kit? If the latter, then all that is needed is some wiring which could be copied from the pics. Assuming it is that simple. But would you have to use a Nokia phone from c.2005 or would a modern phone work too? EDIT: PDF date is 2003, so must be an earlier system, or seriously delayed? Say ;available now' though.

I have a Nokia phone which fits the cradle already fitted to the car, so hopefully once the wiring and the box is installed the phone will be fully integrated into the highline system as shown in the Rover issued documentation Steve |

Apologies for my previous post, I was too tired whilst reading the thread!
I now understand this is about a hard-wired Nokia hands-free accessory kit, that only works with certain Nokia phones but integrates with Highline like the originally-planned but canned system would have done. I have found this system listed in an accessory brochure so was definitely available and made it to market, so presumably there are more examples of this kit in existence. The March 2005 press announcement was relating to some pre-installed wiring for the the hands-free car kits, to make fitting of them easier and quicker. There were no new hands-free kits announced at that time. Quote:
Steve, any luck with getting this hard-wired system going? I didn't even know it existed until I read this thread
