Leather seats
The black leather sports seats in my 260 have tiny spots of what appears to be white paint on them. They weren't the original seats in the car, they were retrofitted by the previous owner and I suspect the picked the spots up while sitting in someone's garage. I had the car valeted a few weeks ago and the guy mentioned he couldn't shift them.
Would the solution be as simple at to touch them over with a black leather paint or has anybody got any other suggestions? |

Don't paint over them, you will still notice them, a magic sponge should rid them

I'll give it a try Jordan but I'm not convinced it'll work, I can't shift them with my fingernail.

I had a couple of stains on mine, apparently paint that had been cleaned off before it dried, and some kind of dye used by local police for motorcycle leathers. was on for at least three years, I was told. wiped with gliptone leather cleaner and it was gone. very impressed because it didn't need much effort. won't do any harm. failing that could try, autoglym tar remover.

I contacted a leather restoration place, they wanted me to spend £90 on a restoration kit, large enough to do all the seats . . . . bit OTT to say the least! I am having some success with leather cleaner and a scotchbrite pad (rubbing gently), although its going to take a while.

Be REALLY careful with the Scotchbrite.
I use a sponge with leather cleaner but it's a sponge with the scrubber back and I sometimes use the scrub just to gently wipe ( no pressure) if the stain is localised and bad. Harry |

Don't worry I am. Leather cleaner and a cloth won't shift them, needs something with a bit more "bite".

Have you tried the vanish bar? I haven't used it for paint, but it seems to shift just about everything else!
