Default Mgzt t Cdti de-cat

I am considering going down the de-cat route. I believe for the MOT they make a visual inspection to see if the cat is still present and if not it is a fail.
I have seen this item on ebay, item number 111286178717, sorry dont know how to create a link. Has anyone used this and if they have did it make any noticeable difference.
Thanks in advance
Craig
