Noisy Fuel Injectors
Hello, I am experiencing louder than normal fuel injector clatter on my Contempary v6 SE. Some days they can be quieter than others, but I can hear them in the cabin when the radio and heater fan is off. I am also experiencing a high rpm on initial start up, to 2000rpm then it will sit down to normal at 750 rpm.
It is going into the garage in two weeks to be looked at, any suggestions ? Thought it might be the fuel modulator valve sticking open too far, hence the rpm, maybe get them to clean it. Injectors poss a injector cleaner, wanted to get some ideas to forward to the garage rather than them charging me £90 per hour checking. |

as for the RPM I dont know what causes that the only time I have experienced it was an air leak on the inlet manifold

A quick note to update you on what I thought was noisy fuel injectors. Took the car into a MG Rover specialist, diagnosed the problem to the inlet manifold baffles, fitted a new inlet manifold and WOW what a difference, the engine is silent, very pleased with the work carried out, had a full service as well, it drives like a new car, well worth doing. Thankyou
