Sad story but all too common.
I have been bitten in the past, once with a 1985 Mercedes W123 and with a 75 as well.
The Merc was beautiful, not a hint of rust up top and clean underneath.
All fine till the MOT when I was phoned and told the car was dangerous, I went to see the car and it had been cleverly filled, undersealed and waxoyled, even the tester was shocked as it looked perfect. I've never seen the likes of it before and doubt I'll ever again. Totally gutted as it was way too expensive to fix.
