Looks like the end for my 190se
As some of you have read, my 190se has a dead engine which I cannot afford to repair. (have a look at the freelanderspecialist, com thread) It is, in its current condition, not worth very much at all despite having lots of extras etc. I am seriously thinking about donating it to a worthy member on here if anyone is interested?

Speak to one of the traders and get a good second hand engine for it

I'll take it off your hands worse case!
But yeah talk about getting a second hand engine! they can even be had from eBay for cheap. Find a full car on eBay for cheap and just remove the engine, the 180 or 190 motor will do. Even the 160 will do as you can swap your cams over when it goes in to the 190 after a belt change/water pump etc.

I think scrapping a car because the cost of repair is greater than the (current) market value is folly.
If the cost of the repair is less than the cost of the replacement car I know what I'd do. Last edited by jonathan63; 3rd August 2016 at 18:15.. |
