A meet I might actually get to...only 60odd miles away also.
Before I went to sea I lived in Malton for a few Months between 1998 and 1999 as I was a Pipefitters mate contracting at Malton Bacon Factory installing a sprinkler system so it would be nice to revisit the place.

ENDED UP REALISING IT REALLY ISN'T PRACTICAL NOT HAVING A CAR TO GET AROUND AND I NOW OWN A VW EOS 3.2 V6 INDIVIDUAL (1 OF 20 REMAINING IN THE UK WITH THAT ENGINE AND TRIM COMBO) EVEN THOUGH I STILL LIVE ON A BUSY ROAD WITHOUT A DRIVE |

What about us up in the north ? You can't have everything down South. I'd still have an 800 mile round trip and two over night stays to attend this one

Perhaps we should have 3 national meets then one north one mid and one south totally understand how many miles club members do as most of the meets we do are at least a 2-300 mile round trip min

We do try our best to share the meets around the country, there are two nationals, Pride of Longbridge and NEC so quite a lot to organise This is all done in free time remember. Don't forget local meets that also take place regularly, try and champion some ideas with your RS.

You can hold a local meet of your own, anyone can. The club can only officially hold a finite number of meets under its insurance policy. These are then mounted with proper cover, supervision, safety precautions like fire extinguishers etc. We cannot oversee every local meet in this way so that's why we ask for the disclaimer be added if your organising your own local one. Which is fine and to be encouraged What would always be helpful of course is for you to offer suggestions of suitable venues in your area that we could have as future national meet locations |

I went to the National Meet at Haynes which I thoroughly enjoyed. But driving to Haynes and back put me at the limit of my driving range. However I do understand that there are many members who don't get to a National Meet because of the distances involved.
