ZTT water leak
I have noticed I get the odd damp spot on the parcel shelf of my ZTT, the water is in a line directly below the light but can be at any point along that line.
I can find no damp spots above it and there seems to be no water marks on the headlining. The amount of water is very small, say about a tea spoon full even like today where it has been raining all day. The amount of rain seems to have no effect as even a shower can leave the mark but a 12 hour down poor seems to leave no more. My best guesses are the roof aerial, roof bars or tailgate hinges. Before I start stripping everything out has anybody else had this problem and what was the cure if any? Thanks in advance. |

Hi Steve,
One common issue is the seams under the channels (black strips on roof)are not sealed very well! Can`t remember who but someone gave a very detailed account on his troubles, could be on another site try googling it! Good Luck with the repair Neil |

I occasionally have a tiny amount of water on the load space cover...towards the LHS...no idea where from and sometimes nothing at all despite the rain!
I keep wondering if it depends on how a seal is pinched at one point when the tailgate is opened and closed again? I'll bother with it one day! Jonty |

I have had a look so either my Googling skills are rubbish or it is hidden in another thread. Oddly today even thought it has not stopped raining for 36 hours here there is no water on the load cover. How do the black strips come off? I had a look but there seems no obvious way of getting them off or do I need to remove the headlining? |

As above, sounds like if the water is coming from that high up, it can only be the seal under the black strips.
I've never had to remove mine, so can't help there - sorry!

I found the water manages to track in between the skins around the main tailgate hinges. It's very hard to see or feel the gap, but after many hours spent directing water down the back of the car, and sealing every other possible entry, this cured the problem.
The gap is right at the top around the join. http://www.75ztcommunity.co.uk/still...-t3013-20.html |

I have sealed it all up and I am hoping that will be the end of the wet on the cover.
The downside is when I removed the cover above the seal it was cracked and is now a lot worse. I took a picture of the number stamped into and thought I would order one from Rimmers but the number does not seem to work? Anybody know where I can get the piece of plastic trim above the seal of the tailgate with the number part ERO100650XXX Thanks |
