(now to post it rather than review it) oh, it worked and I didn't change the code.

It's easy to fix photos within your posts because you always have editing access. The problem here is you don't have editing access to your HowTos. These are closed, even to the author. That makes fixing the HowTo listings a real PITA because not everyone uses Firefox or Chrome.

I think editing access should be temporarily allowed to folk like yourself who have posted many, many useful bits of info to the forum.

Also it would make sense of your posts with the pictures re-introduced and the forum would gain from it also.

Come on Mr Admin---you know it makes sense.----

You can also reinstate photos on your own posts by inserting ~original prior to the [
I’ve done it on most of my posts with success.

I asked, but it wasn't thought to be a practical proposition.
I re-drafted/re-edited several Howto's using an alternative photo host and posted them all together in a long thread. I asked (in the thread) if these could be copy/pasted over the ransomed versions, but no joy on that so far.

Whatever hosting system you use (the forum's image server of the likes of Photobucket), you still can't edit the closed treads used in the HowTo's section. I prefer to use an external host myself.

Anyone's normal posts using photos wherever, can be re-visited and the hosting URL edited/adjusted as necessary. Most people will now know how to overcome the PB ransom for open threads.
