Engine Management Light
I dont normally do this but it worked.
Recently my exhaust was blowing and the engine light came on wouldn't go off. Took her in the garage got the exhaust repaired and the light was still on. Took it to a few garages they still couldn't get rid of the fault. I even took it to BMW got them to have a look still no joy. They said it could be any sensor causing the fault. In the end i bought one of those cheap readers of eBay the fault has gone. Never thought it would work but it did. Here's the link if any one has the same problem might work might not.... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ELM327-WI...8rL:rk:11:pf:0

What, you mean you plugged in the reader and the EML went out?

A 2003 K Series should be OBD II compatible so why not?

why would just plugging a reader in clear the fault light? Would it be because it has checked for faults, cant find any, so turns warning lights off?
would the user not have to press any buttons to clear the fault? macafee2 |

A management light will turn off after a certain number of ignition sequences, if the fault has been fixed, so probably coincidental Neil, should've given me a shout, could have sorted it for you

I assumed, maybe wrongly, that the faults were cleared after the reader was plugged in Ian.

The link is for a code reader so no buttons to click to clear any faults, therefore I think it was coincidental as Ron expressed above.
