Got a Tourer that is soon to be scrapped with what appears to be unbroken rear elements, the car’s electrical system is in bits - can I bench test the rear screen off the car with a battery or will full power be too much and burn out the elements?

I hadn't thought of saving the screen until I saw this thread and perhaps it can be useful to someone if indeed it is how I remember.

Anyone concerned about the rear screen coming on all the time can change the default from automatic to manual using Toaf.

Regards

We should see how much interest there is in getting rear screens made with the heating element, same as happened with the windscreens.

how about this

or

could just one or two wires/strips be used where the proper elements have brocken?

many years ago I fitted something similar to a car, worked really well
