20200303 Tuesday.Thorn Inn, Appleton Thorn, WA4 4QX
I went to The Thorn last night to see what the place is like and if the food is OK..
I got there about 19:10, so I thought I'd missed the Tuesday food and drink deal. but it turned out that the offer applies "all day"' so fighting my way out of the house, then fighting the traffic out of Manchester becomes less of an issue. Plus points Easy to find Lots of space, inside and out Neat, clean and comfortable - (luxurious compared with what we're used to) Friendly staff Good atmosphere Food tasty and well presented ( For less than £10, I had chicken tikka masala, which was served with pilau rice, naan bread, a poppadom and a little pot of good quality mango chutney, plus a drink. Grouses The food hadn't been re-heated enough, which I mentioned to the waitress. she offered to take it back to the kitchen, which i declined. The waitress said she would pass on my comment to the chef. So anyone ordering food that should be hot is advised to ensure that it is. Other than that gripe, I think the place was nigh on perfect. i hope to see you there on March 3rd

Six at last nights inaugural get together at the Thorn Inn, pleasant company in convivial surroundings with a reasonable meal thrown in, what could be nicer.
Great find Robert . Jim |
