Tourer HK subwoofer replacement.
The subwoofer in my tourer has a hole in the cone, I removed the speaker to see if I could source a replacement but the speaker has 4 wires not 2! Has anyone replaced the HK speaker on the tourer and if so with what?
Thanks. |

Hi Steve,
For the saloon there are a pair of 6 inch loudspeakers in the woofer housing which explains the four wires (left and right channels). Are you saying that you have extracted your tourer's loudspeaker itself and seen four terminals on the chassis? If so, can you post a photo please? Simon

Done!
Just replaced the old HK subwoofer in the Tourer with a new unit as described above. Only issue was that the old speaker used 2 medium (6.4mm) spade connectors and 2 smaller (4.8mm) connectors. I made up a small adapter cable for each of the wires to allow them to connect and fitted the speaker, it is a staright swap and to my tired old ears Chris Rea sounds a lot better!
