Morning all, Grey skies abound but, the temps are getting a tad warmer, 12C today, My seedlings thank you.
Spectacular views from your house Phil, Absolutely beautiful & your lawns there are in great condition by the look of it. I've just started to mow my lawns & the really wet Winter we've had means the moss has grown, It's a battle every year to get rid of it especially on the north facing front lawns. I've sent for lots more flower/bedding plant seeds off the ebay as bedding plug plants have gone expensive this year, I cant wait to see some colour in the garden.

Morning Phil and all. No bruising has appeared but jeez its painful. Its ok as long as you don't move but bending, sitting down, getting up etc hurts like hell and don't sneeze or cough Considering phoning the doc to see if there's a more effective painkiller I can take, because of my numerous problems and meds all I can take without asking is paracetamol and it ain't really cutting it. Sleeping is a problem, lying on the injured side hurts, obviously, but lying on the other side I can't avoid my arm resting on the bruised ribs.
Thankfully we don't have grass here and I don't miss it. At the old place if it wasn't for moss the "lawn" wouldn't have been green! Old boy that lived opposite us had his lawn like a bowling green, even had a company come in two/three times a year to give it various specialist treatments. |

My 99 year old mum is back up and running on all 8 cylinders, so there is an example for you! She's driving me crackers with all the "jobs" now! Another day, another dollar!

For comparison, after my leg and abdominal surgery, I was prescribed Fentanyl but couldn’t take it because it made me nauseous and feel wretched. I was put on Oxycodone blue tablets slow release….. were powerful but highly addictive and constipating, made me go ga-ga in the head, gave me a feeling of well being and nothing mattered, also made me sleepy. I was allergic to Tramadol and Ibuprofen because of the liver and stomach ulcer history. I had to go on daily enemas for the constipation so came off the blue tablets, in the end I was much happier on Paracetamol with a separate prescription for Codeine 30mg tablets which I made last longer through cutting the tablet in half. The GP treated me like I was an addict and would only give me a supply lasting 2 weeks. Even though I had major surgery I had to go back to the hospital to get more pain medicine and a letter from a specialist to keep me on it for 3 months. You have my sympathy Steve…… Pain is miserable, so do talk it through with your GP. You should not have to suffer. |

First time I've been out since the latest stuntman experience. After just carrying a small amount of shopping I'm bleedin' sore. Deffo going to call the docs tomorrow, got a couple of things to collect from the pharmacy anyway if I do get a prescription issued.

Ian, thank you for saying those nice words about the lawn. The house in South Africa is rented out except for a granny pad which we keep for ourselves. The tenant is a lawn and water feature enthusiast, he has built ponds, running brooks all around the outside of the house for his fish which gives him enormous pleasure. He made the main pond 3m deep to stop the Herons and Fish Eagles from eating the fish. He keeps 2 pit bulls to deter any birds from visiting the ponds when he is at work. At the moment we have contracted workers clearing the fire breaks and cutting down the blue gum trees which are illegal because they are invasive and take water from the land. In September we have booked to visit the farm to check on everything. The rent we get from the houses is reinvested to pay for the upkeep of the farm and the houses. In September the weather will be not be hot. Please do post up the photos of what you are doing in the garden and around the house. We are lucky to have a gardener who cuts the grass and lawns. Sometimes we let the cows and donkeys onto the lawn but the downside of that is, they bring the flies into the house if we leave the doors and windows open. There is another problem with leaving the doors open in the summer. I will leave it there. Today 30C is forecast and I am having the A/C on the 4x4 re-gassed. Have you any plans for the weekend? Summer will soon be upon you, how prudent of you Ian to get the garden ready. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
