Poor Radio Reception - possible solution
Hello,
Since fitting my new Alpine head unit the FM reception has not been as good as that of my previous head unit. I have checked all the connections but the reception remains poor. I believe my facelift ZTT does not have an aerial booster/filter fitted (scrapped as part of project drive?). On that basis would fitting one of these be a solution? Many thanks Andy |

Sounds like the Sensitivity and Capture ratio of new unit is not as good as one taken out.
Refitting removed items such as Diversity Amp etc not that straightforward as you also had twin Aerial feeds from another section of rear screen etc. The parts are not cheap unless sourced secondhand. Make sure you are not picking up interference from the aerial lead and Heated Screen supply, you may have to rerun or screen better. Cannot comment on the unit you show to be honest, quite often as in TV reception, Rubbish in Amplified means rubbish out. (but if signal is clean could well help, as not to expensive could be worth a punt). Last edited by JohnDotCom; 7th April 2009 at 07:47.. |
