I noticed that you had your lights on when you took the picture. On my car when my lights are on, the display with the mileage and temperature goes quite dark and so does the message centre display. As for the radio and climate control screens they are almost impossible to read!. I am assuming that this is not normal? Any ideas what could be causing it? The screens are perfectly normal, bright and easy to read when the lights are off.

Tom,
Sounds as if the panel light dimmer control has been tuned down a bit. Its on the same panel as the main light switch and is the left hand of the two 'wheel' controls. The other one adjusts the headlight aim for when you have a full boot but only the driver on board. HTH David |

I had a similar problem, and ultimately it turned out to be the TPS (throttle position sensor), but clean the IAC (idle air control) valve first, which is simple to do. If that's OK put her on the testbook and see what fault codes come up. PO 122 is the TPS. Last edited by RowlandOz; 16th November 2006 at 20:30.. Reason: omitted words |

Scoot your car is a 1.8 so engine loads from ancillaries will have a more pronounced effect than on the bigger engines
Less Torque stuff and all that |
