Smile D.D. Questions.

Hi, I have Sean's h/u fitted and have a couple of questions, when I leave the house at 6.30 a.m. the screen is so bright it lights the whole car up, how do I make it dim automatically?, also, how do I make the satnav voice louder when I have the radio very low? . Thanks, John.

John,if you press and hold the MUTE button it will turn the screen off.To turn back on just operate any of the controls. As for the sat nav volume you should be able to set it independently to the radio volume in the satnav program settings.

If you connect to the lighting, it is supposed to dim the screen - but I have not got that far with it yet. It also can be set in an option to switch its colours to a night mode, which uses less bright colours during the hours of darkness.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

I haven't found 'night mode' yet.

Any idea where it is to be found?

Night mode only applies to the Satnav software you are running and is set up from the Satnav software menu,it has nothing to do with the actual units settings.

I have got a bit further with this.....

The Satnav has a setting in it which makes it automatically go into a night mode at dusk. It uses less bright colours in the display.

If you connect a feed from a road lighting circuit to 'Lights' terminal of the head unit, the units back light will also dim down a little. Mine got this feed from the ISO connection. I don't know if there might be another setting for setting the amount by which it dims, when the lights are turned on.

So how can we dim the units screen then? by connecting/reconnecting the ''light''cables?
