1. Rain sensing wipers give a quick single flick as I turn ignition off - everytime. This is due to the Filter, If you remove the line filter it will stop.
2. Harman K doesn't seem to be working, but it does sound pretty good even without it.
3. It seems to loose its radio channels when I switch off - perm 12v and ignition 12v need swapping over(?) Exactly, you need a permanent feed
4. Primo Satnav looks good, came with a history of some rather odd places it had navigated to.
5. Its showing radio channel name in green.
6. Got it playing scratched CD's that my old system wouldn't even touch.
7. Ipod works and charges too. My original interface needed an adaptor to get it to charge (latest generation Ipod), but not this one. It does seem to be picking up a noise in the background though, audible on the quiet bits.
8. Phone bluetooth working too.
9. Plays DVD's well, good clear picture.
10. I have just had a serious go at testing the radio and TMC. There was an adaptor in the kit, to plug straight into the H-line's original antenna in the wheel well - thanks Sean, you're a life saver. This extended to the front with a standard radio extension got some good reception.
11. Then I tested the TMC - not so good. What I assumed to be the TMC antenna was un untuned long wire, only really suitable for medium wave reception, rather than VHF. So despite having a good strong reception of Classic on the radio via the 75's built in antenna, the long wire + TMC was unable to lock onto Classic - finding it, but not able to lock. I need to try the built-in in the TMC just to confirm it is the poor antenna. I might see if the built in can be split to feed both radio and TMC feeds. I WOuld like to hear more about this.
12. I just had a look at the SD side of things too. I thought it was a standard SD card, but they are micro SD of a type used in phones. So I pulled an 8Gb out of my phone which just happened to be ready loaded with MP3's and tried it in the SD slot -wow! You don't pull them out BTW, just press on the card edge and they spring out. They are about the size of a small finger nail, so very easy to loose. You can plug them into a standard SD card slot your PC to read and write them, but you will need a small cheap adaptor - which I just happened to have.

Very easy to find your way around it via the menus, I do like the way all of the inputs have individual input level controls. The rest will take some time to sort out, but quite impressed so far.

Harry, I think it is an oversight if that is so. Was alot of confusion between supplying 2GB regular, 4 GB TF Cards, 8 GB TF Cards , Primo on each of the above. Ill check with my agent and we will send you the correct one.

UPDATE:
My Fault. I didn't pick it up on the Paypal Payment. Sorry Harry.
I will have to send you can 8GB SD Card. Unless, you want a credit for it ?
Ill get it out to you

Sean

Is the 8Gb to follow direct from Tony?

[EDIT] I have just managed to find an adaptor, to allow me to read the cards contents on my PC. It is IGO8.

Hi Cliff, Yes it is Normal.

You mean your wife has your cell phone # ? really?

My unit seems to keep the radio stations OK between switch offs, but the ignition must be in the "accessory" setting in order for the unit to work (My old Symphony unit would work for 20 minutes with no key in the ignition). I take it this is normal?

I can see much fun and games going on over the weekend!!

Default Another update

Got it connected to the basics for a quick test....

1. Rain sensing wipers give a quick single flick as I turn ignition off - everytime.
2. Harman K doesn't seem to be working, but it does sound pretty good even without it.
3. It seems to loose its radio channels when I switch off - perm 12v and ignition 12v need swapping over(?)

1 & 3 seem to be completely resolved by using the included ISO extension lead, I started off with my built in ISO plugged straight into the head.

You asked me for more information on this....

I tested my built in antenna in the TMC input socket and Classic locked straight in. So I had another go with the supplied long wire antenna and got nowhere with it. I then tried to source a Y splitter so both Radio and TMC could be run from the built in antenna and could not track one down apart from just one offered on ebay. Instead I decided to make one out of two short car radio extensions, each about 12" long - cutting the socket off the end of one and T'ing it into the other lead in the middle, without any attempt at impedence matching.

It worked well with both radio reception and TMC - instant lock to Classic FM. I compared reception of a very weak FM station with a direct feed, versus using the Y and there was no noticeable deterioration. To be absolutely correct - to tap into the existing feed with a T, it needs to be impedence match so 75Ohm is still presented to both the antenna and the receivers, but it works fine so I'll leave as is. So the best solution does seem to be a Y splitter one female with two male ends.

This problem might not affect many...

13. Located directly behind my original Hi-line head unit was a large plastic bracket to hold some sort of electronic gubbins box, which I have not yet identified. The Hi-line head is L shaped, which left a bit of a gap where the bracket and its box protruded. I had to remove that and relocate the box to allow the new DD enough room to fit all the way into the dash. Anyone know what the box is for?

[EDIT] Box is marked 'Switch Interface Module' YWQ100031 ????

I'm now having a go at fitting the DVB-T TV receiver in the boot and will be trying the supplied pair of antennas -at least whilst I try to source some adaptors to try the built-in TV antenna feeds in the wheel well.

14 I also noticed a problem with the volume control which I have not fully investated. If you turn it on, turn the volume up and then try to set a low level (1/3 or so), the sound cuts out. It seems to later settle down and work properly. It affects (so far) the volume knob and when used via the remote control.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.
