If you could post up the reply, that'd be great - decoding their dates seems to be a bit of a nightmare!

Just a quick picture of the new belts we've received today -

Interestingly they still have the 'made in Italy' stamp on them - but no Isoran!
Either way, they feel virtually identical to our 2012 belts and we're happy with them; they'll be sent out with all future orders and as replacements for any 2012 items.

Stefan has kindly forwarded me the email from Gates regarding date codes and it looks very much like my particular belt was manufactured on Saturday 25th March 2023 which is good news.

Well done again DMGRS for getting new stock in so quickly and offering to sort the OP out in Sydney with replacements

I read that as Thursday 17th August 2023 (4th day of Week 33 being 14th-20th August in 2023) Steve.

Thursday 13th October 2016 (4th day of Week 42 being 10th-16th October in 2016)

That's how I interpret it anyway. The PP must refer to the location of the plant they were made at. On my belt DS refers to Dumfries

Yes place of manufacture . Dont know what PP stands for but , DS is dumfries apparently. There will be minor differences on belts such as week day (1-5) mon is 1 or they may have the date on instead. I think it depends on the depot. From what i have read the belt date is usually last before the last two letters of place manufacture. Tomorrow i will put up what i have on here, its not a full description of all belts but a general guide. Some suppliers do ask for different requirements on the belts printed info, such as mat is requesting from dayco. I am just waitng for any new emails from gates ,before i post ,but dont really expect any as i had a long winded affair to get what i got. ...

I was able to source another short rear belt to replace the older one in the kit you sent. Picked it up this morning, a 2023, so I have a date matched pair.

Yes please, I'd like to take you up on this offer of a 2021 main belt. I can wait until it arrives before completing the job. Thank you.

I really don't understand why the information is so 'secret' - if I was a belt manufacturer I'd want it to be publicly-available information so my customers could easily identify the date of the product - like Dayco do.

Good on you for digging out the Gates info, and I'm sure it'll help people in future
