On the film they had used special effects to show a power station across the river in a couple of scenes. That would have been the old Stella Gill power station and when the site was cleared and decontaminated was sold off cheap I believe and the famous for it's time, Gateshead Metro Centre was built there. |

Checked fluids and tyres, gave it a quick swill, NS wheel off and sprayed plus gas on brake pipe nut, ready hoping it will help when it needs to be undone to replace the hose with a new one, OS done already.
Sorted out some door locks for my pal Mr D whom in turn is sorting out my spare FBH for me

Took the Tourer for its MoT today, first one since I got it in October. No problems as anticipated after all the work I did on it at the end of last year, but it was advised on light corrosion on the front-to-back brake pipes which I'll take care of once it's a little dryer & warmer. No-one wants to replace those bad boys given the fuel tank has to be dropped.

Rear shock absorbers and top mounts replaced, rear offside wheel bearing replaced, handbrake shoes replaced, sunroof drains cleaned out and plastic connectors installed today by Gavin Fairley at MG Rover Repair at Ryton-on-Dunsmore. I'd recommend him to anyone, in the nine years I've owned the car he's the most clued-up mechanic who's ever worked on it.
In the last two months I've spent nearly £2,000 on the car. Water pump, thermostat, O ring and drive belts replaced, drop links and lower wishbone bushes replaced, Tom Hobbs sill panel welded in, new discs, pads and sensors all round, new bonnet struts, transmission fluid changed, track rod ends replaced with laser wheel tracking, rear light cluster seals replaced etc etc etc. Everyone says "The car isn't worth that much" but I knew that already. I knew I was going to have to take a decision to either spend a shed-load of money on it this year, or scrap it. My head told me to scrap it, my heart told me to save it.
