If these units actually work as they should, it will be the bargain of the decade, not forgetting the fun little journey we have had. Its also a learning curve for some, retail is a funny old game, there is always a good bargain to be had somewhere. |

Only problem I have is the stupid tracking, trying to guess when delivery is due.

Mine had arrived at the local ups depot...only to be sent back to Madrid for some missing paperwork and is now back on its way to the local dept again.... Im not sure if knowing is any better than not knowing. Still, given the evidence so far it looks likely that it will turn up. If it is on the slow boat at least you'll get to hear of any problems prior to getting it. Dallas - said it before but if these work then it really is a fantastic spot. Its just a shame that more people couldn't take advantage of the offer. |

Well! here you go chaps, partly wired and installed, and working. I am still amazed myself at the quality of these android units, considering they sell for a lot more money, anything from £280, down to £185, and for those that managed to grab one paid just £24.59 I still cant believe it...
So far so good, turns on and boots straight into android, I cant get used to having apps on a car stereo though, Browser, email etc how weird. Picked up my Wifi straight-away, and my car is about 12 metre's away from the modem. The sound quality is amazing, you will be pleasantly surprised if I do say so myself. Still dont know why the micro SD card slot for the map is stuck, it looks like a dummy card. When you press the 'Navi' button it boots into Google maps. Obviously you can download other navigation apps, ones where you dont need a data connection, but! I would like to know why the slot is not in use... Some quick photos of wiring the Rover/BMW PC2-05-4 ISO and the supplied DD loom. I purchased another Rover ISO loom to use as a guinea pig, it worked out rather well. The wires are all colour coded, so you can just match-up each wire from the Rover/BMW loom to the supplied DD ISO loom, all colours match. But! you will have to connect the 2x SWC wires separately, also the front and rear camera if you have one. (just connect to the DD ISO corresponding wires). You have a Brown Reversing wire, Pink Parking wire, 2x Steering Wheel Controls wires, 2x wires for CAN BUS if needed, Orange Illumination wire, ANT Power Blue wire and the Blue & White Amplifier Power Control wire. I have not got as far as the Pink parking brake wire, this may have to be grounded to earth if you want to watch DVD's with the car running. This is obviously not recommended due to safety laws, so I'm sure you all know NOT to watch DVD's while driving. You also have the 3G USB input, 3.5mm external mic and 2x AUX-IN RCA's. Also the other 9 input/outputs plugs to play with, camera etc... Last edited by Dallas; 31st October 2016 at 22:53.. |

That's really good news. Looks great too!
Mine is now to be with me by end of Thursday. The 1 daybextra is due to a bank holiday tomorrow. Are the illuminated buttons red straight out the box? Get ready for a load of questions from me re wiring once I'm ready to install. Be interested to know how to install another satnav provider. Google MPs re OK but would much prefer a dedicated app if you see what I mean especially for the offline maps. |
