The swc on our cars does not work through the canbus and our cars do not have the canbus interface on the head unit so it is different in operation . It may be worth you unplugging the canbus interface and reconnecting it again and see if the communication is restored

If not maybe give Sean a PM and see if any other BMW guys have had simalar and if there is a work around. I've installed a few of these into E46 cars but have not yet tried them with the firmware update so can't advise much further in afraid. Good luck and I'm sure you'll get it sorted

The bad news/or good depending on your outlook is the Dvb receiver is working fine here.
Even when dropping/attenuating the signal by 9db I'm still receiving a useable picture with only a small amount of break up. This suggests to me that your problem is still a lack of signal somewhere.
