Hi Steve. After what we discussed at the Nano, I decided to try and see if, when refitting the seat hooks onto the rear panel, back of the seats, to fit them just slightly tightened. I then gently pushed the seat back while looking through the rear window at the hook going into the recess of the back rest. Seemed ok, so crossed fingers, and pushed seat onto hook. Then breathed slowly while pushing the button down, and hey-presto, it came undone. Tightened that hook up. Then did the same on the other side, and everything worked ok. The front drivers seat is more comfortable than my old one. The only problem I have is that the drivers seat will not adjust up or down. Fixed on the highest point. Suits me being short in the legs.

A milestone about to be passed - Winnick Interchange M6 earlier today, went through the 80K barrier moments later, but in traffic. 🙂

Today I didn't do much with my Rover, just cleaned it inside. But I spent several hours looking for good seat covers. I don't want them to be expensive and leather, but it is important for me to easily clean them.
From what I read, many people recommend choosing neoprene covers as they can be washed in a washing machine. It sounds promising as I have two little children. I've already found good variants on the wetokole site. but it would be great to find out more thoughts. Thanks in advance. |

Did a few bits to change the clutch master cylinder. Have tried leaving it under pressure and no oil coming out of the bell housing. BUT got the two clips off to release the pedal but when getting the loop of the master cylinder off the pedal pin it was quite tight. Just wonder if a tight fit of the loop on the pin will cause side thrust on the piston of the master cylinder and contribute to its early demise??? Perhaps a bit of grease or easing it slightly would help??

Drove it 200 miles without hanging about. Car performed beautifully and on topping up tank had a return of 51 mpg.

Not today, but last Saturday we went to my brothers 80th birthday party at Market/Harb. Only place to park was under trees.Had given the car a good wash and brush up on the Saturday morning. Came out Sunday morning to find it covered in bird poop. I think they had been eating cement by the amount of water I had to use to get it off when we got home. Good point about the journey was that we managed to get 57 mpg going down over 56 miles, and 53 mpg coming back. So at 114.000 miles, it seems that the engine is in all respects not doing to badly. Just cruising at 65/70 mph.
