Yes, terminology difference. We call the first one a tie rod end and the second a tie rod. We're on the same page. I suggested either the tie rod or lower control arm could be bent.

In this diagram https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-GRID001059 #1 is what I call the lower control arm. #16 is what I referred to as a track rod or tension rod.

oh 16, agh I see, thank you. 1 is what I'm going to change. I did not consider 16, I'll take another look, thank you. Do you think 16 is more likely then the part of the steering I'm thinking of?

bit of a mine field. I could be changing part after part and still get it wrong.

No, no, but if the lower control arm is bent, it may have tweaked #16 a bit, too, but unlikely. The other end of that must have a pivot point with a bushing. Might be worth a look just to be sure. I was just pointing out an example of our terminology vs yours. I must be careful with what I say because of this.
