Hi Bootie
There may be 1 Wire change if your steering wheel controls are Infrared.
As I understand the Other controls are working?

We did the Video for the setup so probably you just didnt hit the volume button dead on !

Cheers and good luck ! Sean

Not sure why but I followed the instructions on the youtube vid.
But still no luck, seems that the buttons on the LCD will not stay highlited like the ones in the vid
Say for instance if I press in the "MODE" button on the steering wheel and the whilst pressing the mode button I touch the mode icon on the lcd it highlites for maybe a second then reverts back to not highlited, same for all the other buttons!

Any suggestions where I go from here?

Alf

The reason why the icons don't stay lit is because you don't have the cables connected correctly.

This may help...

I extended mine with some house cable hence the blue and brown wires you can see in the pictures. You will have to cut the appropriate cables in the loom to make the connections.

Once the wires are connected then go into the Wheel tab in setup and tap the appropriate icon and then press the appropriate paddle. Or it maybe the other way round but I am sure you will figure it out.

I am not on my puter at the moment so I can't email you. Not a good idea to post your email addy as robots scan forum and you may get heaps of spam etc.

I used a chocolate box connector so that I could keeps things tidy. So this could look confusing but it really is quite simple. The pink wire is for the reversing camera and connects to the Green/Brown cable. Mine was part of this little box...

(not one of my pictures)

I cut it out and connected it to the pink cable. This automatically switches the reversing camera on when I select reverse.

The other cables at the far left are all power cables for the ancillaries such as the receiver for the wireless camera and the aerial buster and the DVB-T box. The power for these comes from the yellow/green which should not be cut from the loom as it provides power when the ignition key is turned.

If you need any more help just ask.

Think I really stuffed up today!
Thought I might have a peak inside just be sure there was no infra red box etc.. well seeing as I got the unit out ( with no signs of any infra red box behind ) I might as well check those green and black wires...bad move Alf!
I noticed the green and black ( steering control paddle and common ) were connected to a tri coloured block BLU , yellow and green in colour, I was looking for a connection with the blue/purple and blue/orange leads like the one in the pic.
No luck didnt find em..but I noticed where the green and black leads were there connected on the block there was no steeringwheel wires connected in that position, I musta short circuited something somewhere and took out the LCD unit as well as a interior fuse.
Replaced the fuse hoping the unit might restart after checking the fuse at the back of the unit and reset. but no luck!
What an expensive day!

I blew two fuses when trying to get some things to work. Check F11 and F22 I think. I replaced F11 and it still didn't work until I replaced F22.

Keep in there I am sure it will be okay.

BTW I used to live in Drummoyne and Five Dock, Sydney for nearly 20 years so at least I know where you are coming from...

Highly Unlikely that you cooked the Head Unit Unless you connected to 220 Volt !
