Thanks, but it already has 1 hand sized dent on the bonnet...
Been out in it this morning, started fine from cold, which was a relief! I've come across another annoying problem though, the central locking is doing funny things. Press the key fob unlock button, and the passenger side won't unlock. Sometimes to get the back doors to unlock, it needs to be pressed twice. Is this an individual fault with my car, or is quite common? I need to dig around for the fuse box too to replace the fuse for the number plate lights, at least I hope it's the fuse! |

one press opens drivers door two presses opens the other doors quite normal.you can have it altered to one press opens all doors but you will need a T4 session.

You can get the locking sorted by a T4 session with one of our friendly T4 owners on the face lift the unlocking is usualy set at one press drivers door two presses passenger doors press and hold to open the boot.. Numberplate lights can be a problem they are on a printed circuit board that becomes brittle I replaced my circuit board with a mini loom and no more problems..Enjoy your car and look forward to meeting you sometime.. Cheers Ian

Thaks for all of the tips guys.
Today was always going to be a bit of a problem finding mission... I have tried the bonnet catch fix, I was playing around and took the rubber housing off the switch, and now I can't get it back on!!! I just cannot see how it is possible without removing the switch. If anyone has any advice, it would be greatly received. The number plate lights look to be a bigger problem than the fuse... After reading the handbook, it seems that those lights do not have their own fuse, and with all of the other electricals working, I thought it must be the bulbs. So, I took the lenses off, to be greeted by this:- It seems that someone has played around before... A little bit of a wiggle brought the drivers side light back on. There are 2 bits of wire loosely wrapped around one of the terminals on each side. Both bulbs work, as I tried them both on the right hand side. My knowledge of electrics is admittedly pathetic, but could someone offer any help please? When I unwrap the left hand wire from the terminal the light on the right stops working, which I understand, making the circuit etc, but I don't understand then why the light shouldn't come on, as the bulb is fine? One slight bit of good news, I found 2 50p's, a nice little interchangeable screwdriver, and a brand new Lypsyl, wrapped in the packet!

Almost a week into ownership - got to say I am enjoying it!
I'm looking forward to getting the niggles sorted out, but then so are all of us on here by the reading that I've done...! Couple of updates:- The weather hasn't leant itself for me to do a 'plenum' check just yet, but this is the condition under the bonnet, so I guess I should do it soon...??
