Wonder if they carried out the "other" 10 checks/mods while the front was off Graham

Ooh that's interesting never heard of those!
Was the 3KW powered externally from a hookup?

4&6 had already been done. Didn't want 7&8. They also did a full aircon check on completion, both high and low pressure checks, gas charge and temp output. They also advised that the condenser was showing signs of corrosion and would need changing in the next 2 years or so, and would check again at the next MOT/Service. "O" rings previously supplied by you were fitted although the originals were still in place, clean dry and not swollen. i believe they also phoned you regarding fitting the 2 self tapping screws. Would have enjoyed the trip up to you for you to have done it but as I said on the phone 550 mile round trip in a day was to much for the other half.

Thanks Graham for your excellent feedback!
I have noticed more & more condensers with corrosion now. Some higher mileage ones are just crumbling away at the fins.

108,598 miles they said it was the fins but still enough left to give sufficient cooling. They said it was salt corrosion and advised hosing down the condenser on my Ford Fusion which has aircon every time it is cleaned to prevent it happening on that one.

My Father fitted a variable vane impeller on his Triumph 1300 FWD.
Can't remember if this was made by Kenlowe ?? So as the RPM increased the pitch of the blades "feathered" reducing the drag. It was very quiet compared to the original & claimed 7-10% fuel savings !! The condensers look absolutely fine on our cars, mind you we hardly ever need salt on the roads in North Wales during the Winter. (coast keeps us warm)
