O.K., bumper off then and examine the fan. The blades have a sort of bayonet fitting to the motor shaft. You can also do the 'demist' test again and if the motor isn't turning then you need to replace the silver resistor with an uprated 'gold' resistor from Jules. Then you should have a working fan again.
Simon.

Hello again!
I have been out and taken the front bumper off today, and I think I don't have the Silver Resistor? The fan turns freely by hand. There is no play.. When I was turning it, it did sound a little dry, so I sprayed some WD in there. Here are a couple of pictures of what I can see... Hopefully they will help anyone shed some light! As always... Help is appreciated!

** Just too add... The bumper is still off the car, so if anyone would like to see any pictures of specific bits, just let me know and I will take some!

Thanks for the link. Mine is the same as the 9th picture down in that thread. It has 4 wires going to the fan.
Do you know why this type stop working and how to repair? Thanks again

Not an expert myself but can recomend Jules who gives more information and is the expert on 75/ZT fans, alternative to repair is new or good used part, try spares for sale section or place ad in spares wanted section, or PM Sean, Arctic etc. re availability. Chips NB Bought a good used 2-speed with uprated Gold resistor myself from Eurorover, good value. |

No resistor there I'm afraid.
If the motor actually runs at low speed, replacing the blades will presumably get it back in action. If the demist test is negative, you need to detach the motor for internal examination. Replacing the blades requires the use of a thin walled socket to hold the 'nut' on the motor flange. It has to be thin enough for the blades to fit over/around. This allows you to insert the twist lock fitting into the flange. Check that the three locking lugs on the blade are actually intact. If not, you'll need a new set of blades as well. Thanks for the reply.
I have managed to get the blades on without too much trouble, but thanks for the tip.. it is a 15mm nut! Fan doesn't work at all though. Nothing on Demist, nothing with full A/C on either.
