A different make but might be relevant...

Ford transit tensioners had a habit of the bearing getting sloppy. That allowed it to twist very slightly so the belt was scrubbing across the surface as it wrapped around it causing a whistly / chirpy sort of sound.

If you can see the back of the belt does it look polished, that might indicate it's rubbing across the pulley instead of rolling around it.
