Its boosting about 3k then it tails off around 4k (sometimes very abruptly) there is quite a noticeable Turbo whistle when the Turbo is spooling.
How do you get to the actuator arm to make sure its moving freely? Had a look tonight but couldn't see it let alone put a hand on it

Plugs, leads, pollen filter and air filter all replaced with brand new items. Turbo problem persists
Looks like it must be the actuator are or the solenoid!

Well after bypassing the solenoid valve there was no hesitancy so I've decided to bite the bullet and spend £40 on a new OE one off of ebay, just waiting on it being delivered!
The car has also began running on 3 cylinders while cold and there is a small loss of coolant (about 1-200ml a week). Apparently this points to a failing IMG. New one bought again off of ebay. I'm watching a VVC inlet manifold and if the new rubber gasket doesn't solve the problem I'll replace the whole inlet manifold with a metal one. Spend total in the first thread is updated!

They are a weak point and can be temperamental. I bought an OEM one off of ebay too as a spare.Half list price of the dealerships.

Arrived at work 20 mins ago to find the solenoid sitting on my desk. Fitted it and took it a wee test drive....
Car is now running beautifully! Just need to sort the IMG and do a timing belt change A big thanks to everyone on the forum for all the advice and support!
