Stevemac, you call it. Your the regional secretary.
Maidstone is fairly central with the M20 and Chatham with the M2 A2 from Dartford & east to Dover. Let me know if you want me to take a look at this area. I was also thinking of wives and kids (do they come?). Chatham dockyard has historical interest for a full day out after the meet with the Dickens centre for the kids. Also shops. Also restaurants and cafes. Maidstone is a riverside pub and sometimes river trips (need to check). |

I'll take a look at Chatham dockyard in the next couple of days. Pub (Ship & Trades), history, cafes, shops, river walks and cover. A sunday later in the month or early May, not easter. The historic dockyard is recommended if anybody wants to make a day of it.
More soon................. |

The pub chain that owns the White Hart I mentioned in my previous post also runs the place on the A20 by Leeds Castle near Maidstone which is about 1 minute from Junction 8 of the M20. We have used it before.

We have to decide a location as there are usually lots of suggestions and the thread goes round in circles. I'm easy whichever way it goes. Pub at Leeds Castle or in the Chatham Dockyard area? |

Leeds Castle pub sounds good... I think a pub is always best, can chat in the car park for a bit once everyone has turned up, then go in the pub for some lunch. I'd imagine it would be quite boring for partners/kids though as we tend to chat about cars the whole time!
Anyway, I won't be able to go this month, what with POL just over a week away, and then Easter, and after that it's the end of the month again so work will be busy! But May onwards would be ok for me.

I will look up the name of the place at Leeds Castle. They have a cosy room up some stairs that we were allowed to use to ourselves. Chatham Dockyard is obviously good for me & Steve given we are Medway residents ()
The Leeds Castle venue would possibly be more helpfull for those from further afield I guess. If we decide a couple of dates (possibly Friday or Saturday evening) then we can go forth & sort the venue. Another question - Do we want to keep this on this forum only or does anyone want to do a multi-forum meet? |

I think the pub near leeds castle is called the 'Park Gate'. I'd be like to come along too if my work schedule permits.

Is indeed the Parkgate Inn. I would be up for it. I haven't been to a local meet since the last Westerham meet Andy (Aurora ZT-T) arranged a couple of years ago.
Quite convenient for the M20 or M2. Regards |

That's it yes The Park Gate Inn. When a date is set I will find the number & can reserve the upstairs (hopefully).
