I've no complaints about their prices, obviously cheaper to buy online than in their depots. One thing that confuses me is the discount code. Many codes are available on the net and give the same discount as what we are offered.

You can generally get a better discount by looking for codes on the net or waiting for ones to come up in their e-mail news letters.
Use their sister site (carpartforless) or on occasions Ebay. I like collecting stuff, and checking what I am ordering. I have ECP just down the road, so I'm lucky and I prefer convenience. Pays to shop around but the club discount is often no better than what they offer to others. Would be interested to know if any other clubs get more than 25%..........

On ECPs "sister" site www.carparts4less.co.uk the same items are £27.
You'll get the same product, from the same people in the ECP packaging but usually around 25% less than ECP. No minimum spend.

Hi Guys!
Thanks for the move - its easier to comment on things within our own section Firstly - the forum discount is offered to you as part of our support - its not a requirement of us being here, We could remove the code, and still offer the same support to members & simply highlight that weeks promotions...... however 4 things: 1. Yes we have many promo codes, however these are limited to certain products - The forum discount has only a few limitations (clutch/turbo/injectors) - The forum code is there to save you from hunting around for an active code 2. Again, the promo codes which are available online may also give customers 25% off - however they have time limitations, the forum code is active for 365 days a year (apart from during a sale, when items are reduced and all codes suspended) 3. Yes - We support the top 60 or so car forums - These also have club specific codes for the same above reasons, These also have a dedicated section for ECP to help members and these also get an annual payment for the support of the forum which we all use. This goes directly to helping the team finance the site and hardware and keep the forum running. So if we're conning you then we're not doing very well because we're helping to pay for the upkeep of the site & helping members with any issues they may have! 4. Yes we sell parts on eBay - These are priced depending on the market, if there are lots of people selling a particular brake pad, we may have to reduce that further than with a 25% discount, however likewise if there is less competition for a brake disc, we will keep the price the same as online (except without any promo codes) - so, although some parts may be more (by a few pennies) on the website, and some may be cheaper we believe that this is outweighed by the fact that with the website you can reserve online & collect in store the same day, Use our Same Day Delivery service & also the returns and warranty are dealt with by any ECP branch (not just mail order) We are not forcing anybody to buy from us, We're not here to shove deals and offers down your throat, we are here to help service members needs (wether its help finding a part, or after sales help) If a part is found cheaper, we ask that you drop us a PM to see if we can tweak the price online - however we're here to support the forums, not just drum up more business. Pat

Thanks for the prompt response Pat. Thread moved once again I'm afraid into the ECP Forum shop so those contributors who are not subscribers (in red) that contributed can read the reply.
Many thanks for your continued support, the feedback we get from the majority of members is always positive. |
