Many thanks Simon

I wonder if this does explain why I have been getting airlock issues after filling up? Hmm.

The quote in my signature is actually from Terry of T.S.Autos - he built the cars at Longbridge, and built the last ones under Chinese ownership, now runs his own business and I have only ever heard good things about his work. He was very helpful in sorting me out some some o-rings for my fuel rail - not available separately, but he found using two of a certain size does the job correctly. Otherwise - second-hand unit or £400 for new fuel rails!

I'll put the Haynes manual back under the sill. I really need to get myself a copy of Rave.

Bled again, fitted jules kit and have had it running for an hour.

Temp guage showing between 85-105, fan running and then increasing to full bringing temp down again. Is this a bit warm?

Id be happy to drive the car to someone local to have an eye over and get there opinion too.

Stephen.

Let you into a little trade secret
Quick and easy way and faster that vacuum filling
Works on K1.8 also

Undo the small bleed pipe from top of header tank.
Block off the stub at the filler cap.
Keep filling the header under pressure while collecting the excess coolant and air bubbles at the bleed pipe you just removed.

Carry on refilling until no more air bubbles appear.
Re fit the bleed pipe and test drive whilst watching the OBD temp.

Works every time for us and we test drive all newly refilled engines up a very steep mountain hill we live on to put the cooling system to the most harsh conditions !

I cannot understand garages handing back vehicles without testing them fully to see if there is a problem they may have caused

Yes, I would say it is Stephen. The KV6 should not rise much above 100° and the slow speed fan is capable of bringing that temperature down to 96°.

I'm puzzled by your reference to "full" speed. You said that speeds 1 and 2 of your original 3 speed system had failed. What do you now have fitted?

Sorry Stephen, I'm still confused. You've never clearly said which fan system you had: two speed with resistor or three speed without. It seems that you have a 2 speed system and you've replaced the original silver resistor with a gold one from Jules. Have I got that right please?

Simon

Hi Simon, Appolgies for just noticing this post. I do have the 2 speed system with Jules Gold resistor fitted now.

Anyways, the ZT-T is now up and running perfectly. Had to do an engine change but it lives to see another day on the road. And i dont plan to sell this ZT anytime soon. Iv became really attached to the car and it does remind me of the previous ZT-T 190 my grandad had ( PL04UZB) .

Few upgrades to do and im going to give the whole underside a refurbishment and get her perfect.

Stephen

So why do you have a picture of the two eyed German monster under your user name?

Thread revival !!

I have 2 KV6's here with pressurised coolant even the next day.
Ok if they are driven very gingerly but overheat as soon as pushed above 40mph
But which head to remove
Did you ever find our the cause of your old engine pressuring?
