You wouldn't use 4/32 you'd use an 1/8, but for 60 mm it would be 2" 11/32 or 2"3/8

personally I use inches or cm depnding what ever the nearest easily recogniseable number is...ie, both together

also use miles and gallons for obvious reasons, but never have used weights in pounds and ounces??? stones for people weight for sure, but never imperial smaller weights...

On a side note, I heard the other day that Europe are trying to ban the manufacture of imperial spanners and tools now

so if the imperial sizes are needed, you will just ahve to learn that a 2" spanner will now be a 50.8mm spanner,,,, crazy....
just leave well alone I say...

Hmm you people belong in a museum

Let me give you a few examples of the benefits of the metric system:

1 meter = 100 cm = 1000 millimeters
1 sqm = 10000 sqcm
1 cbm = 1 metric ton of water or 1000 kg
1 liter water = 1 kg or 1000 grams
10 meter of water (depth) = 1 atmosphere (pressure) or 1 kg/sqcm

Now someone give me the same in the Imperial system
(I knew we Danes shouldn't have left England so soon)

1 yard = 3 feet = 36 inches
1 sqft = 12 sqin
1 cyd = a lot of water
1 gallon of fuel = the correct way to measure it
10 leagues of water (also depth) = You had better be in a submarine

Just remember Stamford bridge!

John.

Well let's see then
How about. Rods, Perches and Poles. They'll never work those out Fishing or canal boating?

4840 sq. yards = 1 acre
640 acres = 1 square mile

What could be simpler?

Working out the distance in light years from Mars to Saturn and back 3.647 times and converting it to inches may be
