So started on the amp rack a few days ago.
Here's a illustration seen from the side. Closed Opened Started out with the amp case The smaller holes are for ventilation of the top of the amp. There's four fans underneath the face plate of the amp. The larger holes at the rear are for ventilation and to run the wires through |

Another few purchases done - Zapco EQ30s equalizers, Hertz HD500 midrange domes and Seas Lotus Reference speakers. The eqs should suit the DaVinci to a T as they're also balanced.
Also made paper template to see how a baffel for the tweeter and mid would look in the car. Here's some pics (sorry for the **** quality, it was late afternoon and my phone ain't the best) |

Looks like you are doing pods of some sort for midrange and tweeter. Could you share some details about how you plan to construct and position the pods!? /Ackel |

The pod idea came about since I cannot fit anything in hte a-pillars since there's an airbag lurking in it. So I need to keep the mids and tweeters either in the sailpanel or in a pod. If I end up with a pod I'm thinking I might make a bracket that attaches to the dashboard mounting screw on the outer side of the dash. The pod itself I'm not sure what to make of, either wood covered in vinyl or maybe either metall or plastics CNC-machined and polished or painted. I won't commit to pods before I know it's the best soundwise. Last edited by Sonus; 24th August 2010 at 10:37.. |
